FUNDRAISERS
BOOTS & BINGO
Through the Event Planning program at Liberty University, I had the privilege of planning and managing a fundraising event that honored Rebecca Rogers Volpe, a previous student who passed away due to chronic illness.
The event, called Boots and Bingo, combined prize-based bingo and line-dancing. This event raised over $400 for the Rebecca Rogers Volpe endowed scholarship fund and will benefit future students with chronic illnesses.
During the planning and preparation phase, I managed vendor contact and the social media page. I grew the social media engagement to 30,000 views in the span of a month and was able to secure 11 local vendors, plus the venue.
The event was successful, and all of the planning paid off. My team and I were able to connect with the Lynchburg community and provide a memorable experience for students, faculty, family, and friends. Overall, this event allowed me to strengthen my leadership, communication, and creativity. I am so proud of my team for honoring Rebecca and continuing her legacy.
